Coach - Tony Monica

Tony Monica is a former Metro League champion in shot put and discus, with multiple titles and a Seattle Times Star of the Week honor to his name. His coaching style blends technical precision with generational wisdom, helping Vincent stay grounded while competing at the highest levels.Tony’s journey began in middle school, placing on the podium in his first seasons of competition. He trained under respected coaches, attended elite camps, and met Olympic legend Al Oerter in the summer of 1998—a moment that shaped his belief in quiet greatness. But the real foundation was laid earlier. Tony’s father coached him and his brother across multiple sports from kindergarten through 8th grade—on the field, the court, and beyond. That family-first system now powers Vincent’s rise. The coaching lineage runs deep. Tony’s uncle is one of Washington’s most decorated high school baseball coaches, a Hall of Fame inductee with a legacy that spans decades. As a former athletic director and football coach, his impact shaped generations—and helped define what it means to lead with integrity.Every cue, every rep, every meet-day ritual is built from scratch. No club. No district funding. Just a father, a son, and a belief in what’s possible.

Legacy isn’t given. It’s built—one throw at a time.

Apex Legacy Fund — GoFundMe Campaign

Fuel the Legacy. Build the Future.Vincent Monica stands alone—an 11-year-old athlete ranked Top-10 nationally in both shot put and discus, competing unattached, without the backing of a school or club. He’s also the only unattached athlete in the nation his age to earn All-American honors in both events at the AAU Junior Olympics. Every throw is a testament to family-led coaching, verified achievement, and quiet resilience. The Apex Legacy Fund exists to support this rare journey—not just with gear and travel, but with belief.
Every contribution helps cover meet registration, gear upgrades, travel costs, and the essentials that keep Vincent competing at the highest level—without club funding or district support. This isn’t just about medals—it’s about building a future where families like ours can coach, compete, and document greatness on their own terms.

We fundraise to keep Vincent competing at the highest level—without sacrificing our values. Two Days. Two Records. One Mission.
At the AAU West Coast Nationals, Vincent Monica delivered back-to-back performances that spoke volumes. On day one, he set the meet record in discus. On day two, he broke the shot put meet record—just before the gold medalist nudged it further. These weren’t lucky throws. They were proof of a young athlete competing at a level that challenges the field and raises the standard.
But behind those marks is a deeper foundation. No club. No district funding. Just family-led coaching, backyard reps, and a belief system built over generations. Every milestone is earned through consistency, grit, and a quiet drive to build something that lasts.
This isn’t just about medals. It’s about legacy—documented, verified, and built from the ground up.
